NeuroLinguistic Programming and Children

Neurolinguistic programing or NLP for kids helps parents, children and teens with their feelings and perception. It is a way to mold patterns of human behavior through our perceptive powers. These include our senses, culture, family, community, teachers, mentors, etc.

What we perceive is able to help us get the most out of life, it shapes how we think and what we do. NLP can help children through educational exercises that are fun.

It helps them develop important skill sets that will be of use into their adult years. These exercises not only build up perception but also confidence, motivation and a sense of responsibility.

Here are ten examples of NLP activities and exercises to help your young ones.

Playing games together as a family is fun, but when those games are more interactive, it makes for an educational experience. So, go ahead and schedule a family game night.

One way to stimulate imagination is to use an invisible book. Instead of pulling a real book off the shelf, open your hands and have your child make up a story. Have them make up characters and use different voices. You are sure to have a great time with this fun activity.

Another way of thinking or reframing. In order to cultivate different ways of thinking about things and a more positive outlook play games where you state something that sounds like it could be bad Like "oh no we are out of cat food" each person then reframe the situation to a positive one i.e. "great we get to go out to the shops-that's fun" etc...

Physical activity is important, at any age. Whether you make up a game or find ideas online, physical activity is a great way to build confidence, agility and coordination.

Word games. You can hone your child's linguistic prowess by playing word games with them. Be sure to make it age appropriate- the nice thing with this activity is that even adults can play and make it challenging for themselves.

Team building activities- where each has a role to play in the final outcome, helps develop an appreciation for others. It improves communication and builds a good team spirit.

Goal setting. Give your child/children an activity with a clear goal at the end- have them make something, copy something or come up with their own ideas. This improves initiative and motivation.

Create a circle of power. This is an imaginary circle that kids stand into when they want to gain confidence. Work with your child by having them practice standing in their imaginary circle and recreating the feelings of confidence and success they have felt at other points in their life. Tell them whenever they are unsure of themselves to stand into their imaginary circle of power and use those feelings of past success. NLP for kids can help create amazing confidence and stop fear from preventing your child to try new things.

Make a list of words in 3 columns, have there be 1 word that is in each column. See how quickly they can find the common word. This exercise improves decision making and helps them to be quick about thinking on the spot.

Pause for 3 minutes after each exercise or activity. Ask a couple questions before the 3 minutes starts. This gives the child a chance to think about and process what was learned. They can then answer once the time is up.

With some time and ingenuity, you can help develop your child's way of seeing what is around them with this NLP for kids technique. Not only will you be spending quality time that is enjoyable for all, you will give your little ones a valuable education.

NLP for kids can be a valuable tool in developing confidence, realizing potential and much more.
